"Kowloon" literally means "nine dragons." In fact, there are a few cities in China named "nine dragons." Nine is a very lucky, fortuitous number in Chinese. It represents wealth, completion, and good fortune. Nine koi wear was worn only by the royal or most elite of the nobles. The Koi with the red spot on the back of it's head is considered the King Koi. The most auspicious of of "nine koi" art would include the "king koi."
